When you speak about cars, you usually speak about European and American car manufacturers. But nowadays, things are becoming different. Japan is known for having several leading car brands. But not far behind is South Korea thorough its Daewoo.
The name Daewoo actually refers to a conglomerate or a group of companies. In South Korea, such groups of companies are almost always ruled by chaebols, or families of the business owners. Daewoo is living proof that the system could really be effective and wise.

In 1962, National Motor changed its identity and became known as Saenara Motor and in 1965 became Shinjin Motor.
Daewoo regained its namesake to become Daewoo Motor in 1982. a few years after, in the 1990s, US carmaker General Motors Corp started accumulating shares in the company, until it eventually gained control of the Korean automaker. It was in 2001 that General Motors absorbed Daewoo and formed a new unit now known as GM Daewoo.
Daewoo fanatics should never feel left out. That is because Daewoo as a brand is very much alive and well in the global scene for cars. In fact, Daewoo remains one of the most trusted and resilient car brands all throughout the world. With the collaboration from General Motors, you can be assured that Daewoo will continue to make waves and awe the global car industry.
With the many years of its existence and the numerous car models that it has launched, Daewoo is set to continue looking forward to the future. As a matter of fact, Daewoo is collaborating not just with General Motors, in Australia, it has been working with Holden Commodore and in Japan; the car brand is identified to have a close partnership with Suzuki.
