Rolls-Royce

When you say Rolls-Royce, you must be referring to high-quality in car products. Through the years, the name has been tantamount to gold. When you speak of Rolls-Royce, you must mean expensive, luxurious and high-standard vehicles that are mostly admired and respected across global markets.

Rolls-Royce is a car brand that is identified with three distinct Rolls-Royce companies: Rolls-Royce Limited, Rolls-Royce Motors and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. Take note that all three are still the same Rolls-Royce which produces high quality cars. However, the structure, management and strategies change through different successions within different eras. Rolls-Royce Limited ran from 1906 10 1973; Rolls-Royce Motors was the official name of the company from 1973 to 2003 and Rolls-Royce Motor Cars from 2003, when the firm became a BMW subsidiary.

Rolls Royce Limited was founded by car engineers Frederick Henry Royce and colleague Charles Stewart Royce in 1906. The British car brand was founded as an aero-engine maker. The company operated in a diverse capacity with several divisions, including the engine making business, the aircraft designing and development unit and the car manufacturing arm.

In 1931, Rolls-Royce acquired luxury car brand Bentley Motors, which struggled to make ends meet during the onset of the Great Depression period. From then on, Rolls-Royce cars became even more reliable, stylish and highly performing.

In 1973, Rolls-Royce decided to make its car division independent. Rolls-Royce Motors was born. The emergence and popularity of the many Rolls-Royce car models made the firm dependable and well recognised within the industry. Prior to that, in 1971, Rolls-Royce was nationalised because of the pending and troubling financial woes that befell the company.

In 1998, after tens of sophisticated car models, Rolls-Royce was sold to BMW. The car brand is now part of the lines operated and distributed by the German car company. Prior to that transaction, BMW was already supplying engines and other significant components for the company. The relationship was just strengthened and upheld with the buyout.

Manufacturing-wise, Rolls-Royce is truly one of a kind. Through the whole of the past century, the company was able to produce three classifications of cars, namely, standard, premium and convertibles. Silver Ghost was the pioneering premium car carrying the Rolls-Royce name. The company increased its brand consciousness and popularity after the car model was launched.

The new Rolls-Royce is said to be independent of the old Rolls-Royce. The current management of the company insists that it has no other connection with the old Rolls-Royce except for the Rolls-Royce trade name they share. As for the technology, car assembly and manufacturing culture, it is said that the current Rolls-Royce is truly different from the old Rolls-Royce.

Rolls-Royce and BMW are surely two car brands that are both strong in their respective car niches. Rolls-Royce has always been known in the high-end or premium car segment. The name has always been representative of superior quality and high-end characteristics among all car brands. That is why the name has always received strong reception and branded recognition in terms of car assembly and superior vehicle technology.
