Honda Motor Cop Ltd

You will meet the nicest people riding on a Honda motorbike. This was the slogan of an aggressive marketing program in the 1960s in the United States. To date, Honda is one of the strongest car brands that are competing to dominate the global car market. But did you know that Honda was not originally a carmaker?

The history of Honda Motor Cop Ltd is as colourful as its motorbike models in the past, which were the leaders in the market then. As a Japanese engineering company and engine manufacturer, Honda was a firm devoted to creating automotives. The company was officially founded by a local Japanese mechanic named Soichiro Honda in 1948.

Mr. Honda was able to develop his own piston ring design in 1938. He approached Toyota Motor Corporation to sell the rights to the invention. Toyota, which would be the fiercest rival of Honda Motor in the years to follow, declined to take Mr. Honda's invention, which forced him to roll out and market the product on his own.

After World War II, Honda had a hard time maintaining the production of the piston ring. But the company was instituted. To cover increasing costs, Honda had to introduce new products for more revenues. And so it started to design, develop and market motorbikes.

Honda motorbikes were the most popular in its time. Though there were inevitable competitors, especially from premium motorbike maker Harley Davidson, Honda was able to pull the plug and maintain its lead. But then, in the 1960s, Honda was so pressured to start the development and manufacture of prototype land cars.

Initially, the cars designed, developed and launched by Honda were exclusively intended for its home market in Japan. But because of the potential of the cars to make it big in global markets, the company decided to soon offer its lines of cars into the global market. And the decision was so right. Honda cars sold like hotcakes, so much so that rival Toyota felt the pressure and made moves to strengthen its leadership.

Honda cars are known to be superior and to have the best-performing engines. That is because prior to becoming a full privileged and recognized car brand, the company first focused in creating engines for cars and other automotives. Thus, it can be said that Honda has been an expert in developing and manufacturing engines. Those engines are now integrated, installed and used in Honda vehicles that are rolled out in the market.

Aside from that, the overall interior and exterior designs of all Honda cars, especially the modern types, are making up for the brand's reputation as a premier car name. When you say Honda, you would surely invoke reliability and superiority when it comes to cars.

Not only are Honda cars considered premium types of cars. Now, there are also especially designed and manufactured Honda cars that are targeting the car racing sector. Many racers are acquiring Honda racing cars for their superior performance.

Now, Honda cars have localized affiliates in almost all countries pertinent to the global car industry. Aside from Japan, Honda cars are now being manufactured and distributed it the United States, in Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Thailand, India, China and in the European Union region.
