If you were assigned to make a short and instant list of global automobile brands, you surely would not miss including Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz is another brand of German cars. The name is exclusively owned and distributed by DaimlerChrysler AG, which actually is a giant group made from the merger of two gigantic car manufacturers.

Mercedes-Benz is one of the popular car brands for premium cars, several trucks, buses, coaches, and of course automobiles, which make the name very popular. The name Mercedes-Benz is probably the most popular used in premier automotive vehicles in the world. The name suggests that there are actually two giant names that are combined to form the Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes-Benz has been a product of many mergers from the past until recently. To begin with, Mercedes-Benz was designed and developed when two German car firms merged in 1926. The auto assemblers were Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft or DMG and Benz & Cie. The name Mercedes-Benz was representative of respective components from both firms. Of course, Benz came from Benz & Cie, while Mercedes was the contribution of DMG. The name Mercedes as a car brand was named after the daughter of Gottlieb Daimler, who was the founder of DMG.

DaimlerChrysler AG was a combination of Daimler-Benz and Chrysler Group of Companies in 1998. The merger was also a merger of equals. Thus, the ownership of the Mercedes-Benz also changed due to the combination. Through DaimlerChrysler, the car brand Mercedes further evolved and grew despite the greater challenges of survival and global car industries.

However, DaimlerChrysler AG recently separated as a single company. Thus, expect that Mercedes-Benz would be returned to Daimler. As it had been, Mercedes-Benz would continue evolving and meeting the challenges and victories in the future.

Through its whole life span, Mercedes-Benz has been a symbol of unparalleled quality and durability. Through the years, the car brand has become focused on volume and costs. Since its inception in 1926, Mercedes-Benz has been actively making motor sports vehicles. As a matter of fact, the motor sport produced by the car brand has been actively racing in three major motor sports events, namely, DTM, Formula Three and of course, the formidable Formula One.

Mercedes-Benz has become popular not just in its home market in Germany. It has also been well-known in other parts of the country and has been made and assembled in several countries like Malaysia, Thailand, USA, South Africa, Brazil, India, Austria, China, Turkey, South Korea and Egypt. Dealership for the car brand is made accessible and available in more than 130 nations all over the world.

Aside from the cars, which made Mercedes-Benz famous the world over, the car brand has evolved to also manufacture other forms of automobiles like buses and coaches. Since the car brand is equated with quality and durability, many car buyers have been rendering full trust in the name.

Mercedes-Benz is truly one of the most reliable and trusted car brands all over the world. The brand has been an effective symbol of quality and endurance. No wonder, sales figures for the brand have been constantly maintained in the past several decades.
